Sunday in Review: Early Games

By Bobby Holt

  • Peyton Manning still refuses to lose, no matter how bad his defense is.  Despite his 2 ints, he still put together a solid day.
  • I have finally found a quarterback who is better at throwing to the other team then Mark Sanchez, his name?  Jake Delhomme.  Even Kerry Rhodes joined in the fun picking off two, yeah, count it two interceptions on the day.  First two of this year.

  • Stat of the week:  Darelle Revis and Kerry Rhodes both caught more passes from Jake Delhomme than Steve Smith did.  You know, the guy on his team.
  • Steve Smith, who? (the good one).  Revis blanketed him all day making him a non factor in the 17-6 loss to the Jets.
  • Washington almost won another game!  Then decided to blow the lead and allow the Eagles to kick the game winning FG with under a minute to play.
  • The Falcons pulled off what looked like a sure fire loss when Matt Ryan and Michael Turner both left the game very early in the first.  Chris Redmen, who was selling insurance last year, led the Falcons on the game winning drive with less than 2 minutes to play.  After stumbling at the 5 yard line for three plays, Redmen threw a strike to Roddy White on 4th down with only 14 seconds left to play in the game.
  • This just in, Jason Elam still can’t kick a field goal.
  • Seattle did everything in their power to remind everyone they still play football.  They beat a Bulger-less team and kept themselves in the playoff hunt.
  • Chad Henne did his best Chad Pennington impression by throwing pick after pick to help the Bills crush the ‘Fins 31-14.
  • LOL Oakland Raiders LOL.
  • Why does Detroit still get to play on Thanksgiving?  The only thanks I gave was when the game ended.
  • The Bengals quietly beat a terrible Browns team and Larry Johnson rushed for over 100 yards.  What was even more impressive was that Johnson didn’t make a racial slur before/during or after the game*.
  • ****This has not been verified.
  • We have learned that the Giants can beat the teams they are supposed to, but can’t even beat the Broncos.
  • Stayed tuned for the late game wrap up.
